Using the Cisco Room Kit

The ITE 325B conference room is equipped with Cisco Room Kit, which can be used to share your screen to the TV or connect to Video Calls.

Sharing your screen during a local meeting

Sharing Using the Webex Application

If your laptop has the Webex application installed, you can use that to easily connect and share your screen.

  1. Open Webex on your laptop.
  2. Choose "Connect to a device" in the upper right corner.
  3. Wait for the device "UMBC ITE325B" to appear. You may need to allow Webex access to your microphone or disable noise cancellation temporarily.
  4. Select "UMBC ITE325B" to connect to the Cisco Room Kit.
  5. If asked for a code, the code will show up on the upper right corner of the TV.
  6. Now you can choose to share your screen or a specific app, then press "share" in the bottom right corner.

Air Play and Mira Cast

If your device supports Apple Air Play (Most Apple Products) or Mira Cast (Windows 11), you can share media from your device through the native

Connecting a Webex Meeting

There are two ways to connect to a webex meeting; the first is to use your laptop to connect, and the other is to connect from the tablet.

Connecting from the Webex Application

  1. Open the webex call from your laptop
  2. Choose the 3 dots next to the X button.
  3. Choose "move this meeting to a video device."
  4. Wait for the device "UMBC ITE 325B" to appear, and choose that
  5. If prompted for a code, the code will appear on the TV in the upper right corner.
  6. The webex call should now appear on the TV.

Connecting from the Tablet

  1. Choose "webex" on the tablet screen.
  2. Enter the meeting number and access code, which is sent in meeting invitations or can be found in the webex app by choosing "Meeting Info" in the upper left corner when connected to a meeting.
