Imagine Premium

Effective September 2016, Microsoft DreamSpark has been renamed to Microsoft Imagine.

There are Usage Guidelines specified by Microsoft about what is acceptable and not acceptable concerning the Imagine Premium service. Students who do not qualify to get a Imagine Premium account can get access to the regular Imagine service (details below).

To get access to Imagine Premium, please open a new ticket using the Web interface at http://my.cs.umbc.edu/ .

Class requirement

The Imagine Premium service is available to CSEE faculty and students who are a Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Electrical Engineering major or to any student taking a CMPE, CMSC, CYBR, or ENEE class. Software is to be used as a requirement for the class, such as projects or some type of assignment.

Students who are not a major in any CSEE program will be required to show proof that they are actively enrolled in a CMPE, CMSC, CYBR, or ENEE class.

Lab requirement

Students and faculty in CSEE Research Labs can have access to Imagine Premium to acquire and use software as part of a research project.

UMBC club requirement

Only students who are a Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Electrical Engineering major may get access to Imagine Premium to acquire software for a use within a UMBC club.

Imagine

Microsoft allows any registered UMBC student to get access to the basic DreamSpark service. This is not supported by CSEE since authentication verification is maintained by UMBC's main IT group.
